Hybrid Conference

Welcome

Under auspices of the Minister of the German Ministry for Education and

Research (BMBF) Anja Karliczek, the conference "Sustainable & Resilient Urban-

Rural Partnerships – URP2020" will take place 25–27 November 2020.

URP2020 will take place as hybrid conference. Registration is open!

We are closely following the COVID19 developments, WHO and German official policies

and recommendations. URP2020 will take place in a hybrid format, i.e. there will be a

conference hub hosting the plenum session and moderation in Leipzig, Germany,

broadcasting to all participants and there will be several interactive virtual sessions.

You will be able to actively participate and contribute to all sessions also remotely.

Regions are of critical importance to implement the UN 2030 Agenda including the

Sustainable Development Goals, the HABITAT III objectives and the European Green Deal.

We provide a quick intro to URP2020 in our video here:

By focusing on sustainable and resilient urban-rural partnerships, the international URP2020 conference contributes to the implementation of the New Leipzig Charter and the Territorial Agenda 2030 and is part of the events of Germany’s Presidency of the Council of the European Union since July 2020.

URP2020 will bring together outstanding keynote speakers and connect scientific insights with enlightening experiences of on-going projects in practice. Join a stimulating conference that fosters learning on various levels, i.e, from the local level via entire regions to the broader European understanding of integrated urban-rural development. We offer a forum for exchange and support the co-design of ideas to tackle the challenges for sustainable and resilient regional development. In a special issue of Land as well as in a thematic issue of Raumforschung und Raumordnung | Spatial Research and Planning both dedicated to URP2020, we welcome your contributions for publication.

We are looking forward to welcoming you at URP2020 in Leipzig.
