The URP2020 conference is history now. With more than 450 registered participants, we were impressed by the large number of contributions that allowed us to put together an amazing program. We hope that the URP2020 stays with you for a long time. We certainly keep a fond memory of this meeting.

Regions are of critical importance to implement the UN 2030 Agenda including the

Sustainable Development Goals, the HABITAT III objectives and the European Green Deal.

The conference "Sustainable & Resilient Urban-Rural Partnerships – URP2020" took

place under the auspices of the German Federal Minister of Education

and Research  Anja Karliczek on 26 – 27 November 2020.

The URP2020 conference has been carried out using a Mobile Event App (MEA) –

you can join using your PC or via the MEA smartphone app (available in your App store):

There are two types of access:

  • Registered users have access to all sessions, incl. parallel expert sessions and recorded presentations, and to all functions of the MEA.
  • Guests have free access to the Plenary Sessions, incl. opening, keynote and closing sessions.

We will provide selected URP2020 content also through the URP2020 YouTube channel.

Dedicated to the URP2020 conference, special issues of a the journals Land and Raumforschung und Raumordnung | Spatial Research and Planning (RuR) will be published. We greatly encourage contributions for publication. We greatly encourage contributions for publication.

URP2020 was part of Germany’s presidency of the Council of the European Union. As such it was organized climate-neutral and sustainable. Confer official statement here.
